It can be expensive buying a bed for your child when they outgrow their cot and so a great alternative is a cotbed which can transform from a cot into a bed easily.
A cotbed is a nice bridge between the cot and a proper bed and they are therefore only meant for very young children as they will soon outgrow the cotbed. They are very useful though and can save you having to buy a small bed, they also have the advantage of making the child feel more comfortable as they are familiar with the bed and you can always turn it back into a cot should you need to.
