A nice twist on the bunk bed is a bunk bed that has the bottom bunk as a futon sofa bed as these are very versatile as they can be used as a sofa or a bed.
These futon sofa beds are great if you have one child in the bedroom but often need a second bed, this could be for when friends or relatives sleep over. The great thing is that the child will have a sofa in their bedroom which is very comfy and looks very stylish as it is a futon and you will also have a second bed for whenever you need it. The futon bed is usually meant for occasional use and so it is not recommended that you use a futon bunk bed to sleep two kids every night as the futon does not quite offer the sleeping comfort of a proper mattress.
Some futon bunk beds have a small futon that is a single seat and folds out to become a bed and others have a full sized futon that is a double sofa and folds out into a large bed.
